The song submission period for the Belarussian selections for the Eurovision Song Contest is over. Belarussian broadcaster TVR has received 30 songs, a very low amount compared with the 67 songs that have been submitted last year.

Nevertheless, TVR is satisfied because of the quality of the 30 songs that have been submitted. Several of last year's participants have submitted a song again: Natalia Tamelo, Zhanet, Akeksandra Gaiduk, Polina Smolova, Yana and Korianna. Furthermore the Russian singers with Belarussian roots Gunesh Abasova and Anzhelika Agurbash and the Christian rock band New Jerusalem submitted a song too.

The next two weeks a professional jury will evaluate all songs and eliminate half of the entries. The 15 finalists are expected to be announced by the end of November. Belarussian broadcaster TVR would like to have Ruslana as guest star in the final again and therefore considers to let the final take place in December, on a day that fits in Ruslana's tour schedule.
