On Wednesday September 15th Italian newspaper La Stampa wrote on their regional SanRemo-Imperia pages that SanRemo city council has met Italian broadcaster RAI-TV delegation to ask RAI-TV officially return Italian artists to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest.

SanRemo City council also asked RAI if in case of the Italian victory at Eurovision Song Contest, the venue to host the event could only be in SanRemo. The agreement was declared while preparing the procedures for the next SanRemo Italian music festival.

RAI haven't yet replyed about this proposal, so nothing is 100% certain yet, but at least the tv-station is beginning to discuss about it.

The other object of discussion is whether the winner of SanRemo festival would represent Italy in case of the participation.
