Swedish broadcaster SVT is looking for the best Melodifestivalen song in the history of the contest. Therefore it published 49 new and old video clips of Melodifestivalen winners and other entries that became classics, although they didn't win.

Since today, Sweden can vote for the best ever Melodifestivalen songs on the website of Swedish broadcaster SVT. Mister Melodifestivalen Christer Björkman, the Swedish representative at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1992, selected 49 songs to compete in this contest. The visitors can use a joker (vote for another song that isn't in the list) and vote for any other song they see as their all time favourite.

The winner of this contest, Sweden's all time favourite Melodifestivalen song, will be announced at the Världens Barn gala, a charity project for children in need, to be broadcast on 12th and 13th November.

Each week, the 5 songs with the lowest amount of votes drop out, until there are 20 left. The next 5 days, 1 song per day will drop out, which leaves 15 songs for the first show on 12th November. During that show, 5 more songs will drop out, which leaves 10 songs for the final show on 13th November out of which the winner will be chosen.
