Sakis Rouvas, who represented Greece in the last Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul, will carry the Olympic torch tomorrow, on it's final journey to the main stadium in Athens and the opening ceremony of the 2004 Olympic Games.

Sakis Rouvas sang Shake it for Greece in the 2004 contest, and managed to qualify from the semi-final onto the grand final, where he also brought Greece a lot of pride, bringing them a very respectable 3rd place. This was Greece' best position ever in the contest (together with the 2001 achievement). It has been said recently, that Rouvas declined the Greek broadcaster's (ERT) request to represent them again in the 2005 contest.

As reported in sportsfeatures.com, it seems now that the Greeks are eager to show Rouvas their gratitude, as he has been selected to carry the Olympic torch in it's final course across Athens, ending in the Olympic stadium tomorrow night. Sakis Rouvas will bear the torch tomorrow and will join other personalities who received such honor this week, such as Naomi Campbell, Carl Lewis and Kati Garbi (Greece 1993).
