During the first gala of Eurojunior Festival 2004 Blas, María Isabel, Lydia and Nico qualified for the next round of the Spanish selections for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

These are the four children who proceed to the next round of Eurojunior Festival 2004. Next to their name is the song they performed during this first gala:

Blas (12, Murcia) : Joan Manuel Serrat – Lucía
María Isabel (9, Huelva) : Pastora Soler – Guerra fría
Lydia (14, Barcelona) : Christina Aguilera – Ven conmigo
Nico (9, Madrid) : Backstreet Boys – As long as you love me

The first three children were selected out of ten participants by a professional jury which consisted of Carlos Quintero, Mar de Pablos, Alejandro Abad, Octavi Cruz, Xasqui Ten, Toni Ten and Josep Llobel.

The fourth one was selected by SMS and televote. Of the seven left children, Nico gained the highest percentage of the votes, namely 23%.

Thirty other Spanish children will take part at the next three galas. In three weeks we'll know the sixteen children who'll perform on 27th July for a place in the final round, taking place in September.
