Initially it seemed that the Slovenian national broadcaster RTVSLO did not care much for this year's Eurovision Song Contest, but they were actually preparing the most extended Eurovision coverage in years. One of the most popular daily TV programmes Videospotnice will be completely dedicated to this year's Eurovision Song Contest previews.
The Eurovision themed Videospotnice started on 3th May and will be be replaced with the regular programme (Slovenian music videos) the day after the qualification round. In each show, the host Peter Poles (also announcing Slovenian votes) will introduce 6 songs from this year's contest. Among the 6, television viewers will select one song (through televoting, of course) to proceed to the final Eurovision Song Contest themed Videospotnice. The 6 darlings of the Slovenian television public will be presented on the day of the qualification round on 12th May. Viewers' participation will be encouraged by Eurovision Song Contest prizes to be won each day.
Slovenian representative in Istanbul, the male/female duo Platin will be a part of RTVSLO's Eurovision Song Contest programme on 12th May. In the one-hour show Istanbul, we're coming! they will talk about weddings and wedding customs with the hosts Bernarda ???½arn and Peter Poles who will also test their Eurovision Song Contest knowledge in a pop quiz. As it has been revealed, Diana and Simon of the duo Platin will get married on 13th May in Istanbul, no matter what the result. The whole event will be recorded on camera by RTVSLO's team.
RTVSLO will broadcast both Eurovision Song Contest evenings live. With some luck and generosity of the European voters, Platin will sing on both nights… let's wait and see!
