Eurovision 2004: this is the running order!

During a live transmission over the Eurovision network, the running order for the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest was drawn. Meltem Cumbul and Korhan Abay, hosts of the contest, introduced themselves to the press and executed the draw together. Eurovision Song Contest supervisor Svante Stockselius represented the European Broadcasting Union.

Eurovision Song Contest 2004 qualifier round – 12th May
Finland opens the qualifier round on 12th May, The Netherlands has the honour to end the show. This is the running order for the qualifier round:

1. Finland
2. Belarus
3. Switzerland
4. Latvia
5. Israel
6. Andorra
7. Portugal
8. Malta
9. Monaco
10. Greece
11. Ukraine
12. Lithuania
13. Albania
14. Cyprus
15. FYR Macedonia
16. Slovenia
17. Estonia
18. Croatia
19. Denmark
20. Serbia & Montenegro
21. Bosnia-Herzegovina
22. The Netherlands

Eurovision Song Contest 2004 final – 15th May
Spain has the honour to open the final of the Eurovision Song Contest on 15th May. With Sweden, the show will be ended. This is the running order for the final:

1. Spain
2. Austria
3. Norway
4. France
5. Open position for qualifier round top 10
6. Open position for qualifier round top 10
7. Open position for qualifier round top 10
8. Germany
9. Open position for qualifier round top 10
10. Open position for qualifier round top 10
11. Open position for qualifier round top 10
12. Open position for qualifier round top 10
13. Belgium
14. Russia
15. Open position for qualifier round top 10
16. Open position for qualifier round top 10
17. Iceland
18. Ireland
19. Poland
20. United Kingdom
21. Open position for qualifier round top 10
22. Turkey
23. Romania
24. Sweden

The open positions will be filled up with the top ten countries from the qualifier round. After the qualifier round, on 12th May, no points will be revealed, only the countries that qualified themseleves will be drawn by the hosts for the open positions.
