Oikotimes.com and Eurovision Greece report today that the Greek broadcaster ERT announced that the popular singer Sakis Rouvas will represent Greece in Istanbul. He will sing the song Shake it.

Earlier, ERT wanted to send the winner of Eurostar, a Popidol-like show, to Istanbul but after the very popular Sakis Rouvas showed interest in representing his country, ERT decided to change the plans.

A show, in which Eurostar-winner Apostolos Psichramis would present three songs to the Greek audience to choose from, was scheduled for tomorrow, but is now cancelled. ERT decided internally that the song Shake it will be perfomed in Istanbul by Sakis Rouvas. As consolation prize, Apostolos Psichramis will now be in Rouvas' backinggroup, along with his Eurostar-co-finalists Antonis Dominos and Ioanna Fafaliou.

Shake it was composed by Nikos Terzis, who composed the Greek Eurovision entries in 1995 and 2001 as well. The lyrics to the song were written by Nektarios Tirakis.

Greece wil participate in the qualification round on 12th May in Istanbul.
