Our colleagues of oikotimes.com reported that the Greek Head of Delegation, Daphne Bogota, said to them that ''EuroStar will not be cancelled and the winner will go to the Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbu''. But… there seems to be more…

The past weeks rumours appeared in different Greek media, saying that EuroStar will be cancelled and Sakis Rouvas, a popular Greek singer, would go to Istanbul to represent his country at the Eurovision Song Contest. Various official sources denied the rumour, but now Daphne Bogota said that “there are some developments now”, but she couldn't say more about it yet. Because of this statement, rumours about Sakis Rouvas popped up again.

Totally in contrast with the story, some media officials said to esctoday.com that “there is no chance Sakis Rouvas would represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest on the top of his musical carreer” and that “it's wishfull thinking of Greek Eurovision Song Contest fans to see Rouvas represeting their country”.

The selection for the Eurovision Song Contest takes place on 17th March, as scheduled in the Kappa Studios in Spata. Friday, on 12th March, one out of three performers will be chosen to perform three songs in the final, all written and composed by Nikos Terzis. That means that we'll know sure by Friday if the story is a rumour or a serious development, the only thing that seems to be sure now is that the winner of EuroStar goes to Istanbul… alone or…?
