Tonight, James Fox has been chosen to represent the United Kingdom at the 49th Eurovision Song Contest in Istabul with the song Hold on to our love. Six songs appeared on stage during the new national final show Making your mind up.
James Fox (27) from Cardiff began his musical career at the age of eight by learning to play the piano and this, in turn, led to pub and club circuits in Wales, cruise ships and eventually to the bright lights of Blackpool. Kevin went on to join Liberty X (via Popstars) and recommended James to their Management company Hyperactive. He was swiftly signed up and went on to entertain British troops in Kosovo, The Falklands and Afghanistan. James made his national debut last year on the second series of Fame Academy where his guitar-playing and performance skills helped him achieve a respectable 5th placing.
Except for the midland jury, all regions gave 12 points to James Fox which brought him on 80 points. The concensus in the seven regions was enormous, which resulted in almost the same list of points from every region. The televoter also gave James Fox the most points: as much as 40 percent of the votes! Hyrise ended up second with 58 points and 24 percent of the votes.
