Armenia not to participate in 2004 contest

Armenia will not participate to the Eurovision Song Contest 2004. Head of Live Events of the EBU, Sarah Yuen, told that to DotEurovision.com.

The participation of Armenia to the Eurovision Young Dancers competition and the fact that the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 was broadcasted in Armenia caused confusion in the Eurovision Song Contest scene, because the Armenian broadcaster is not an EBU member. To compete to the Eurovision Song Contest, a country's broadcaster must be member of the organization.

The rules for the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 will be published in late August.
