That was it! The 2019 national finals season has now passed through history, as we know the winner of the Swedish Melodifestivalen 2019! Up until the last minute, tension was very high, with 12 acts battling for the one and only ticket to Eurovision. All results are out and it’s John Lundvik who will fly the country’s flag in Tel Aviv!

12 performers managed to reach the Grand Final and tried their best tonight. These were:

  • Jon Henrik Fjällgren – Norrsken (Goeksegh)
  • Lisa Ajax – Torn
  • Mohombi – Hello
  • Lina Hedlund – Victorious
  • Bishara – On my own
  • Anna Bergendahl – Ashes to ashes
  • Nano – Chasing rivers
  • Hanna Ferm & LIAMOO – Hold you
  • Malou Prytz – I do me
  • John Lundvik – Too late for love
  • Wiktoria – Not with me
  • Arvingarna – I do

The result emerged both by televoting as well as the votes of jury members from 8 countries. All these countries revealed their score via their spokesperson, who appeared ahead of the announcement of the televoting results. Each voting body had a 50% stake at the outcome and the joint decision declared John Lundvik as the overall winner with the song Is it too late for love  ! Second place went to Bishara, while Hanna Ferm & LIAMOO came 3rd in a total of 12!

Enjoy the next Swedish Eurovision entry below:

Stockholm presented a glamorous and spectacular final, with surprising live acts, such as the Norwegian 2019 entrants KEiiNO, and two former Eurovision winners joining forces on stage! The 1998 Eurovision winner Dana International, as well as her successor Charlotte Perrelli have released a brand new single, entitled Diva to Diva. This happened 20 whole years after their first co-existence on stage, when Dana gave the prize to Charlotte, in 1999 in Jerusalem.

Sweden will compete in the first half of the second semi-final on 16 May.
