Today the Dutch broadcasters NOS and TROS announced that November 1st is the deadline to submit songs for the Nationaal Songfestival 2004. In a press release, the organization points out that amateur artists, writers and composers can also participate.

A selection committee will select 24 songs for five preselection rounds in January and February, most likely on Sunday. Six songs will compete in four finals, the winner and runner-up of every selection will go to the final. In the fifth preselection two wildcards will be given away to the songs that have not qualified for the final.

The final of the Nationaal Songfestival 2004, which will include ten songs, will take place at February 22nd in the Pepsi Stage Theatre in Amsterdam. The hosts are Humberto Tan, a sports programme presenter who launched his own clothing brand yesterday, and Nance, who seated in the jury of the Nationaal Songfestival last year and hosts a quiz on the Dutch public television.
