Eurovision 2019: KAN opens submission window for volunteers

KAN, the Israeli national broadcaster, has opened the submission window for the 2019 Eurovision volunteers.

Do you want to become a volunteer at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest? Do you have what it takes to become a volunteer? Do you speak English or any other foreign language ?

If so you can apply to become a volunteer at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest and get the chance to work along the 2019 Eurovision delegations, artists and will experience the backstage and fan zone areas. The submission period is open as of today.

Circa 500 volunteers will take part in the various fields of production related to Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv: accompanying  and guiding delegations from the 42 participating countries during the 2 ESC period, assisting and helping at the Eurovision Village, Press Centre, Ben Gurion Airport, Delegation Bubble, Orange Carpet and Opening Ceremony, Accreditation Centre, etc.

The first set of volunteers will start off as soon as April.

Ms. Sharon Ben David (Eurovision 2019 Head of Communications) says:

This willl be a tremendous opportunity to be part of the production of the largest event ever seen in Israel … The volunteers we are recruiting will work at the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv and will a key role in the success of the event.

How to apply?

Applicants wishing to volunteer should meet the following requirements:
  • 18 years old+
  • Israeli citizen
  • Good level of English
  • Team player, works well on own initiative
  • Good organisation
  • God level of at least one foreign language (native languages of ESC participanting countries)
  • Good disposition
  • Good communication skills
  • Smart appearance
  • Indepent, assertive and dynamic
  • Available  for the hours required for each role
Volunteers will be given t-shirts/ relevant uniforms, meals, work insurance, a participation certificate and will be given the chance to experience the magnificent Eurovision Song Contest and be part of it!

Volunteers will be given various tasks in order to help out at the official hotels, official ESC venues  (Eurovision Village and Expo Tel Aviv), Press Centre, Delegation Area, Fan Zone Area, Backstage Area,  etc. They will be helping and assisting delegations as delegation hosts during the 2 Eurovision weeks.

The 2019 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 14, 14 and 18 May at the Expo Tel Aviv in Tel Aviv, Isarael.
