Eldar and Nigar the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest representatives from Azerbaijan have embarked on the first stage of their European promotional tour for their entry Running Scared. The tour stars in Malta and will continue on to Russia, Tallinn, Estonia and San Marino. More dates will be confirmed in the next few days

It is the first time that either of them have been to Malta and the couple have already fallen in love with the picturesque views, rich culture and warm people. Nigar said: Malta punches well above its weight with culture. Malta is so welcoming and the people are as warm as the weather. Everyone has been so positive about our song and I wish we could stay longer than Saturday.

Whilst in Malta, Eldar and Nigar performed their Eurovision Song Contest entry, Running Scared on the Il–Lejla television show and recorded a performance for the special Eurovision Song Contest edition of Maltese current affairs show, Xarabank. Today they join local representative Glen Vella for a CD signing session in the capital city, Valletta. They have also been asked to appear in an interview on PBS News and be interviewed by the Malta Sunday Times.

Eldar and Nigar will perform for Azerbaijan in the first semi-final of the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in Germany on Tuesday 10th May.
