Enric Castellet, president of the Andorran broadcasting company RTVA (with ATV as television section), confirmed to the website Eurovision Spain that Andorra will participate at next year's Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul.
The broadcaster's president could not give any details about the selection format. With approximately 65,000 inhabitants, the question if there is enough national musical talent to organize a public selection.
At the broadcaster's website, 98 percent of the voters suggested that Andorra should participate to the Eurovision Song Contest.
Andorra will, just as the other new countries, participate in the qualifying round, which will take place in the week before the final of the Eurovision Song Contest. A final list of participants will be released somewhere near the end of this summer.
UPDATE: Meanwhile, the Head of Entertainment of RTVA, Alex Teres, confirmed to esctoday.com by email that the Andorran song will be performed in the Catalan language.
