Good evening Europe, this is Yerevan calling! The Armenians are coming to Israel for Eurovision! Thus Armenia joins the list of countries who have confirmed their intention to partake at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv.

The Armenian broadcaster is yet to confirm the mechanism it will use to select the 2019 Armenian Eurovision act and entry. Armenia selected its Eurovision hopeful via Depi Evratesil in 2017 and 2018. AMPTV is set to reveal its plan of action for Eurovision 2019 in due course.

Armenia in Eurovision

Armenia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 and is yet to win the competition. The country’s achieved its best result in the event in 2008 (Sirusho) and 2014 (Aram Mp3) when it placed 4th in the Grand Final.

Armenia has partaken in the contest 12 times and has competed every year since its debut with the exception of 2012 when the country decided to withdraw from the competition.

The Armenians have enjoyed much success in Eurovision, garnering a total of 7 top 10 placings in their 12 year Eurovision history.

In 2018 the Armenian Eurovision act and entry were determined via a national selection. Sevak Khanagyan was crowned the winner of the second edition of Depi Evratesil and represented Armenia in Lisbon with his entry Qami.
Despite a great performance Armenia failed to qualify to the Grand Final.
