Greece: National final on February 28th?

Although ERT have not officially confirmed yet, Christos Mylordos, this year's Cypriot representative has revealed today on local television the date of the Greek national final. According to him, Greece will elect its Eurovision hopeful on February 28th during a show hosted by well-known journalist Lena Aroni.

Today the official deadline for submitting entries to the Greek national selection came to an end. February 4th was the last day for the interested songwriters to submit their songs to the Greek national broadcaster.

Although ERT have not officially confirmed the news yet, the date of the Greek national final was revealed today by this year's Cypriot representative during the Gia’sena morning TV show. According to Christos Mylordos, February 28th is the date of this year's Greek national final for Europe's favourite music show. It is also said that Lena Aroni, a popular ERT presenter will be the host ofthe show.

Six acts will fight for the right to represent the proud Greek nation at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011:

  • Antigoni Psihrami (2010 Greek Idol contestant)
  • Kokkina Halia (2008 X-Factor contestant)
  • Loukas Giorkas (2008 X-Factor winner)
  • Nikki Ponte (2010 X-Factor contestant)
  • Trimitonio (2008 X-Factor contestant)
  • Valanto Trifonos (2010 Greek Idol winner)

Greece will perform in the second half of the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2011.
