Sertab Erener returned back to her native country Turkey this afternoon and she was greeted by a jubilant crowd at Istanbul Atatürk airport, as well as, the Taksim city center.

At her arrival at the airport Sertab was greeted back by the TRT staff and her boyfriend and 'Everyway That I Can's co-lyricist and composer Demir Demirkan. Sertab said that she was talking to Demir through her mobile phone during the final stages of the voting when she lost hope for winning. Apparently, Demir told her to keep her hopes high and when he learned that she had won he was thrilled for her and for his country.

Sertab told the reporters at the press conference following her arrival that her favorite performances at this year's contest were Romania and Belgium. She also said that she has received phone congratulatory phone calls from the Turkish president, prime minister, foreign minister, some of the MPs, and the main opposition party president.

Sertab and her team will be accepted by the Turkish president Ahmet Necdet Sezer, the Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and the president of the Turkish Parliament Bülent Arınç in Ankara. Then, tomorrow evening a party will be given on her honour.
