The tension is growing in Kyiv as the second semi final of the Ukrainian selection for next year's Eurovision Song Contest concludes. Three more acts qualified for the final phase of the competition which is due to be held on February 27th.

Although seven competitors were supposed to perform their Eurovision bids, only six of them graced tonight's stage as Shanti decided to withdraw.

The three lucky participants who qualified from today's semi final are the following :

• Ivan Berezovskiy- Ave Maria
• Eduard Romanyuta – Berega
• Bahroma

A televoting line was opened in order to determine the fourth qualifier of this semi final. Group Para Normal’nyh, Neksi and Metropolitan were nominated for people's choice.

Ukraine is one of the most succesful countries of the last Eurovision decade as it has never missed a final and placed five out of eight appearances in the top 10. Their best result is the victory achieved by Ruslana and her wild dances back in 2004.
