About Mikolas Josef

Mikolas Josef (Prague, Czech Republic, 1995) is a Czech singer-songwriter and former model.

Growing up in a small village in Bohemia, the half-Moravian Mikolas later graduated from Prague’s English College and London’s Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

Following a successful modelling career, young Mikolas focussed on his passion, music. He performed throughout Europe, in cities such as Hamburg, Oslo, Vienna and Zürich, and released his debut single Hands bloody in 2015.

In 2017 Mikolas Josef was approached to represent the Czech Republic at Eurovision 2017 with the song My turn. He rejected the song, as it didn’t fit his style, and it was eventually performed in Kyiv by Martina Bárta.

In 2018 it is finally Mikolas Jozef’s turn to represent the Czech Republic with the song Lie to me.

Mikolas Josef will perform Lie to me in the first half of Semi-Final 1 on Tuesday 8 May 2018.
