Mark your diaries: Selecția Națională 2018 is set to kick off from the 21 January! Now we know which artists will be competing in each of the 5 semi-finals over the coming weeks.

TVR, the Romanian national broadcaster, has unveiled the allocation and host cities for the upcoming semi-final stages of the country’s upcoming Eurovision national selection: Selecția Națională 2018.

Sixty artists are set to compete for the right to represent Romania at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest, but which semi-final will the winner be performing in?

Semi-final allocation

The semi-final stage of Selecția Națională will run over the course of 5 weeks, with 12 acts competing in each show, with hopes of qualifying to the final of the selection on the 25 February.

A maximum of 15 artists will compete in the final of the Romanian national selection, meaning that 3 acts will qualify from each semi-final.

Freia out, Tomher Cohen in

Earlier today, TVR confirmed that Freia’s bidding entry, Fix me, has been disqualified from the national selection due to the song unknowingly being released before the 1 September 2017.

Following today’s news, the Romanian national broadcaster confirmed that Tomher Cohen will take Freia’s place in the competition, competing with the entry Baby you’re the only one.
