Mickey Harte, who will represent Ireland at this year's Eurovision Song Contest, dedicates his performance next week during the live show to his father, who pasted over a few weeks ago.

To the Belfast Telegraph, the singer/songwriter said that the lyrics of his song We've got the world tonight would be a poignant reminder of the man he referred to as his inspiration: “On the day of the funeral the priest recited a few lyrics from the song, which were relevant to me and my dad. Every time I sing it now, I think of him and when I get up there on the stage in front of all those people, I'll be singing that song for my dad”.

Mickey also told something about travelling to Latvia: “Around 400 people are flying out from Ireland to Latvia to cheer me on, which is amazing”, he said.
