We return to Israel this evening for the next show of The Next Star, where the search for the country’s representative at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest continues.

Tonight sees the next episode of The Next Star, Israel’s national selection for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest, take place. A further selection of artists will be competing for a place in the next stage of the competition.

The show

In yet another audition episode of the country’s national selection, The Next Star will set another mix of artists from across the country performing to both the public and jury, hoping to gain their place in the next stage of the competition.

The artists will be auditioning for a total of 70% of the ‘Yes’ vote, with a maximum of 40% of the vote coming from the 4-member jury panel: Static & Ben-El Tavori, Keren Peles, Harel Skaat and Assaf Amdursky.

Whilst some participants may not receive the 70% needed to advance, there will still be one more chance for the artist to qualify to the next round with a potential ‘Save’ vote from the hosts of the show.

The winner of The Next Star will earn the right of representing Israel at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in the host city of Lisbon.
