It’s already known that the lillipuite state of San Marino has decided to hold a pioneering national selection process to pick their 2018 Eurovision entrant. This new 1 in 360 project is named after the British company that will be responsible for its successful conducting.

What has been just announced is that up to 3 out of the 10 entries that will battle for the Eurovision ticket during the live shows, are going to be selected by wildcard.

What about the first wildcard?

According to the company’s press release, 1 in 360 will introduce the “fan club wildcard” which will be awarded based on the voting results from the participating fan clubs.

Same company has published an open invitation to all OGAE Eurovision fan clubs. However, they also leave the window open to further wishing to partake fan clubs, as they state that they could include a number of selected Facebook and/or Twitter groups, which faithfully follow the contest.

Should a fan club be interested in being involved, they have to send an e-mail to [email protected] until 23 November. This submission e-mail could include a list of up to 10 candidates that the corresponding organization would prefer to be included in the vote.

The company is going to announce the shortlisted fan clubs on 24 November. Afterwards, each of these organizations will have to cast their votes by 1 December in traditional Eurovision style (1 to 8, 10 and 12 points to their ten favourite candidates).

1 in 360 will be disclosing the final results on 3 December. More information about the candidates and the overall national selection process can be found on the company’s official website.

Live shows

Recently, the Sanmarinese national broadcaster SMRTV announced the hosts of the live shows, who will be Nick Earles and Kristin Stein. A total of 7 shows will air via internet and satellite between January and February. Eventually, the 2018 Sammarinese hopeful and entry will be determined in February during a televised live national final.

Via an Instagram post, they’re inviting us to join them. So, are you ready?

Will this revolutionary project bring luck to San Marino?
