Former participants and last year’s host of the Swedish Eurovision national selection, Melodifestivalen, is all set to host the country’s selection once again according to the latest reports.
In a report today by Aftonbladet, it has allegedly been confirmed that one third of last year’s presenting trio, David Lindgren, is eager and ready to return as the host for the forthcoming Swedish competition, Melodifestivalen.
A favourite amongst viewers across the continent in last year’s Swedish Eurovision selection, the country’s national broadcaster, SVT, was so pleased with Lindgren’s efforts during the 2017 contest, that they have reportedly invited him back to host the event once again.

Lindgren together with?
Following Lindgren’s alleged return, SVT is said to be in negotiations with at least one other person who will present alongside the former Melfest participant next Spring.
The Aftonbladet report continues that, despite being at the top of the Melodifestivalen producer’s – Christer Björkman – wish list, one supposed candidate-favourite has been stopped from gaining a presenting contract, concluding that the unnamed comedian and act “did not fit in with the Melodifesitvalen profile”.
If the latest reports are true, Lindgren would only be the third presenter to return as a host for the competition for a second consecutive year, following in the footsteps of previous hosts Kristian Luuk (2007 & 2008) and Gina Dirawi (2012 & 2013).
Further details regarding the forthcoming Melodifestivalen 2018 event are expected to be released in due course, with the competition participants expected to be revealed towards the end of October to the start of November.
