Iceland: Complete line-up for national finals revealed

After Iceland's sensational 2nd place at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow, Russia, the country is looking for Yohanna's successor through Songvakeppni Sjonvarpsins 2010, Iceland's preselection to determine the Icelandic representative at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Oslo, Norway.

A total of 15 entries will compete in three semi finals for a place in the national final. In each semi final, the two entries receiving the most amount of televotes will be given a place in the final, to be held on February 6th, 2010, hosted by Eva María Jónsdóttir and Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir.

Among the competing acts, Hera Björk, who is well known to Eurovision fans for being one of the backing vocals for the Icelandic Eurovision entries in 2008 and 2009, as well as reaching 2nd place in the 2009 Danish national final with the song Someday. This time, she will be trying to get the chance to represent her native country Iceland at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest with a song entitled in French language called Je Ne Sais Quoi, written by Örlygur Smári, composer of the Icelandic Eurovision entries from 2000 and 2008.

Morever, Óskar Páll Sveinsson, one of the songwriters behind Is it true?, the song which earned Iceland 2nd place in 2009, is competing yet again with a song called I'll One More Day, performed by Jógvan Hansen.
