IMRI, like so many of the semi-finalists, is wearing all black. He wears tight black trousers and a tight black vest, and he accessorises with thick black bracelets around his wrists. IMRI met with the press of the Eurovision Song Contest 2017.
Amongst his words, he said that this year everything is about him.
About his colleagues he had only good words to say and he stated that they are going to hold a party:
We’re gonna have a party! We have my backing singers and dancers and fireworks and we’re gonna do our best to make Europe dance. We are very perfectionists in our delegation; we are just going to have a few camera changes and a it’s gonna be awesome. I believe in my performance!
IMRI also expressed his pleasure that so many people from all over the world took his challenge and sent videos of singing his entry I feel alive in anyway they wanted to.
We received thousands of emails from people singing 30 seconds of my song with the project we did and it’s amazing that people love my song!
Imri begins alone on stage with a backdrop of half a circle in white full of lines and cuts. He’s dressed in a black sleeveless shirt and two dancers in white join him after the first chorus. The backing singers join towards the end and they all sing together as the Israeli stagings always are.
The main colours of the performance are white red and black for a spacey feeling that has nothing to do with the party we should be celebrating in. Imri’s vocals are far from being perfect and the quality level changes frequently from one run to another. For sure this is Imri’s first time on such a big stage and he should probably get used to it, but it is uncertain whether the whole package will work at the end.
