Tijana Bogićević went to Meet & Greet with the press of the Eurovision Song Contest.
She stated that after her first performance at Eurovision was as a backing vocalist for Nina in 2011. She wanted to appear again in the contest, but not as a backing vocalist. Now in 2017, there is a chance.
I always wanted to repeat the experience but there wasn’t really a chance until RTS invited me.
About the contest, she made the following statements:
It’s like Olympics but for music, so it’s easy for people to get hooked on Eurovision. I’m amazed to see how many fans there are out there.
The Serbian performance opens with a B/W effect and a wide aspect ratio screen, but right before the first chorus we go back to full colour. Tijana is alone on stage but joined by a male dancer with an open shirt towards the end, to perform a preview-video like dance. The backdrop features general blue-white water effects.
On one hand, her vocals are stable and strong (in most parts of the song) and the camera work bring the motion and rhythm of the song to a maximum. On the other hand, the performance is too empty and boring for such an uptempo song. As the opener for this semifinal, it might not do well with Serbia’s chances to qualify to Saturday night’s show
