BHRT, the national broadcaster of Bosnia and Herzegovina have announced the rules of the country's preselection for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. Once more the Bosnian candidate will be selected internally by a special jury appointed by the General Director of BHRT.

Interested parties are invited to submit their proposals to BHRT until 20th of December. Although the performers have to have B & H citizenship, the competition is open to foreign composers and lyricists.

The winning song will be presented on 7th March on a prime time show which will be broadcast on BHT 1, BHR and BHT1 Satellite (provisional date).

Bosnia and Herzegovina participated in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 for the first time. Their best placing to date came in 2006, when Hari Mata Hari came third with Lajla, a sentimental Balkan ballad by Serbian Zeljko Joksimovic. In 2009, rock band Regina entered the top 10 in the final with Bistra voda.

Thanks to Johnny Logan and Hold me now I fell in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, a love that's been going strong ever since with undiminished passion. My first memories date back to 1977 and the lyrics of Rock bottom, Dschinghis Khan and A ba ni bi are still engraved in my brain.

I joined esctoday.com in 2006 as a junior editor after being invited by Barry Viniker, I soon became Senior Editor and during the 2007 contest in Helsinki I was appointed Head of Communications. Today I hold the post of Head of Human Resources and I am proud to be working with the best editorial team in the world.
