Lior Narkis (picture), Israeli entrant to the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest, reacted today to the paper Yediot Ahronot about Israeli Tzvika Pick being the composer of his Ukrainian opponent.

Lior Narkis will perform Milim la'Ahava in Riga, whereas Tzvika Pick and Mirit Shem-Or, who are also Israelis, wrote the Ukrainian entry, Hasta la Vista, to be performed by Ukraine's Olexandr Ponomaryov.

“It's great that Tzvika Pick will also take part in the Eurovision Song Contest, so there will be two Israeli songs. I just hope one of the two 'Israels' win”.

Sarit Hadad, who performed Pick's song last year in Tallinn, said that “this gives Israel more power in the contest”. Hadad added: “I am sure the two delegations will have fun together in Riga”.
