A special committee consisting of RTCG’s Head of Department for Promotion of Programs Sabrija Vulić, Radija Crne Gore’s music editors Nada Vučinić and Vladimir Maraš, Televizije Crne Gore’s music editor Slaven Knezović and Televizije Crne Gore’s Entertainment Editor Ivan Maksimović,  will deliberate and decide which act will fly to Kyiv next May.

Montenegro opted for an internal selection in order to select its 2016 Eurovision act and entry. Highway were given the honour to fly the Montenegrin flag in Stockholm with their entry The real thing. Despite an amazing performance the all boy band failed to qualify to the Grand Final.

Montenegro debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 and is yet to win the competition. The country achieved its best result in the contest in 2015 with Knez, placing 13th in Grand Final in Vienna.

The 2017 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held at the IEC  in Kyiv on 9, 11 and 13 May.
