Kaliopi is back with her latest release, Kesteni, the first single to be released since her participation in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest.
Kesteni, a remake of the original 1988 hit by the Serbian band Alisa, was produced by both Kaliopi herself alongside her long-time collaborator Romeo Grill, made for the Balkan radio project entitled The Stars are Singing the Stars 2 in which stars recreate classic singles in their own style.
Speaking of her latest single and music video, Kaliopi revealed:
We managed to make a complete audio-visual story. The reactions from my friends, co-workers and my dear fans were great, everyone is indeed very pleased.
I’m especially delighted that the author of the song, Miroslav Zivanovic-Pile from the band Alisa, is thrilled with the remake. We succeeded to make a cover that will continue the spirit of the song and that will make “Kesteni” forever remain in people’s hearts and Balkan music history.
