Is Sweden’s very own Charlotte Perrelli all set to compete in Melodifestivalen 2017? The latest rumours suggest a return is highly likely!

According to Aftonbladet, an inside source with good insight has confirmed that Charlotte Perrelli will be making a Melodifestivalen comeback in search of her third Melfest victory.

However, inside sources claim that although Perrelli is in it to win it, a third Melfest victory seems highly unlikely with more focus being placed on new material from the veteran pop singer.

Having won both the 1999 and 2008 editions of the Swedish national selection, even going on to win the 1999 Eurovision Song Contest with Take me to your heaven, Perrelli’s last Melodifestivalen participation was in 2012 in which she competed with her entry The girl, finishing in 5th place in the fourth heat.

Perrelli joins the ever-growing list of rumoured and predicted names for Meldofestivalen 2017, featuring various former Melfest participants including the likes of Ace Wilder, Mariette and 2-time Swedish Eurovision representative Tommy Körberg.

The 28 Melodifestivalen 2017 participants, along with the titles of the competing entries together with the composers, will all be revealed next week on the 30 November in a special presentation show hosted by SVT.
