Australia: Dami Im travels to Uganda

The 2016 Aussie representative Dami Im has flown to Africa, namely to Uganda. She will be visiting her sponsored child there and wishes to raise awareness for children living in poverty.

The 2016 Eurovision runner is currently devoting her time to a charitable cause. She has travelled to Kampala, Uganda to visit her sponsored child. During the Q&A show on SBS, Dami Im said that she would like to use her Eurovision success to help raise awareness for children living in poverty.

The Aussie star has become a household name both at home in Australia and throughout Europe after her Eurovision performance. Dami narrowly missed out on bagging the top spot to Ukraine’s Jamala.

Dami Im represented Australia at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest with her entry Sound of Silence.

    But such pity that this country Uganda [and almost the whole Africa]
    is/are deeply homophobic anti-gay country/continent.
    that poor gay people are getting abused- attacked or even killed there :((

    Hopefully with time, year after year the situation will start changing steadily for the better
    4 the GLBT people not only in Uganda but everywhere in Africa
    & also the rest of the homophobic world/planet ofc.

    It just bugs me that these ignorant non educated people with low IQ
    are spreading so much ridiculous & retardish rumours to the public masses
    about gays & homosexuality (don’t make me start..)
    that are presenting us like sick, perverts, (or even p*dophiles..!)
    and generally as abnormal monsters
    that we don’t deserve to even exist/live in their ”normal” straight world..
    The truth really needs to come in the light
    so all these (sadly so many) countries will eventually STOP fighting homosexualtity
    & going after the GLBT people.
