SRF, the Swiss national broadcasters has confirmed to ESCToday its participation at the forthcoming 2017 Eurovision Song Contest scheduled to be held in Ukraine.

Thus Switzerland follows the footsteps of Finland, Estonia and France all whom have confirmed their participation at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest.

It is more than likely that Switzerland will opt for a national selection in order to select its 2017 Eurovision act and entry. SRF will release more details regarding their 2017 Eurovision project in the coming months.

Rykka had the honour of representing Switzerland at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest with her entry The Last of our kind. Despite an extraordinary performance she failed to qualify to the grand final in Stockholm.

The preliminary dates for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest have been set on 16, 18 and 20 May.

The 4th country confirming its participation for next year’s EuroVision.
SWITZERLAND always gives the present in ESC
so could not abstain from this contest either.
After all its the very FIRST ever country that won the EuroVision.

Really pity that SWITZERLAND finished even last on the SF this year with Rykka.
The same with last year sadly that Melanie also had finished last on the SF.
The last 2 years have not been good at all 4 Switzerland unfortunately.

Hopefully the Swiss will change their bad run & will rise next year.
To at least get the qualification 4 the Final. [that is fair enough success for them]
