Eventhough the dust hasn’t settled yet from last Saturday’s Eurovision Song Contest, preparations for the forthcoming 2017 Eurovision have already kicked off in several countries. The Finnish national broadcaster YLE has confirmed its participation in Ukraine next year and will once more opt for a national selection in order to selects its  2017 Eurovision act and entry.

The Finns will select their Eurovision hopeful via UMK 2017. Artists wishing to fly the Finnish flag in Eurovision 2017 can send in their applications to the Finnish broadcaster on 1 September. More information and details regarding the 2017 Finnish national selection will be released on YLE’s official website.

Sandhja represented Finland at the 2016 ESC in Stockholm with her entry Sing it away. Despite an energetic performance she failed to qualify to the grand final.

The preliminary dates for the 2017 Song Contest have been set for 16, 18 and 20 May.

    Today its the international gay day against homophobia by the way.
    { That date was chosen to commemorate the decision to remove homosexuality from the International Classification of Diseases of the World Health Organization in 1990 }

    FINLAND will gonna legalize gay marriages next year on 1st March of 2017.

    So hopefully Finland will gonna manage to qualify to the Final
    after their 2 consecutive failures this & last year.
