Israel will select its 2009 Eurovision Song Contest in a national final on 2nd March. The national final will once again by called Kdam and the duet of Noa and Mira Awad will perform four songs in the show. Each song will contain English, Hebrew and Arab lyrics. Edan Har'el, the former MTV presenter will host the show.
The four songs will be presented for the first time from 18:00 local time (17:00 CET) on February 24th February on the IBA's official Eurovision Song Contest site, Eurovil. They will also be be played for the first time on IBA Gimmel Radio at the same time. The Kdam national final will take place from 21.45 local time (20.45 CET) on Monday 2nd March. The show will be broadcast live on IBA 1 in Israel and internationally via the webcast at the official Israeli broadcaster's Eurovision Song Contest website:www.iba.org.il/eurovil.
Voting will be split between a televote and expert jury. The televote will account for 55% of the result, the jury will represent 45% of the final result.
The four songs are:
- Bo'i Li'rkod Iti – Come dance with me
- Eiynaich – Your eyes
- Yesh Yamim – There are days
- Kol Shniya – Every second
