Germany: Oscar Loya to Eurovision

According to, Germany will be represented in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest by American singer Oscar Loya. The artist, whose producer is succesful Alex Christensen, is completely unknown in Germany and has yet to release his first album. The song he will perform in Moscow is called 4 Worte à 4 Buchstaben: Miss Kiss Kiss Bang (4 words with 4 letters: Miss Kiss Kiss Bang).

Oscar Loya was born in California as the youngest of five children. He currently resides in Munich and works on his first album. Producer Alex Christensen hadmany hits in the German charts, most recently with the Eurodance project Y-Ass.

Germany has taken part in the Eurovision Song Contest since the first edition in 1956 and has chosen an entry every year since, but was eliminated during the internal semi final in 1996. In recent years, the country was not very succesful finishing in the second half of the scoreboard every year since 2005. Last year, girl group No Angels finished 23rd and hence equal last with Disappear.
