Iceland: another two acts for the national final

The third of four semi finals in the Icelandic selection for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest was held tonight. Four acts competed and two were chosen to move forward to the national final on 14th February.

After no matches last week, the esctoday.com poll voters at least partly agreed with the televoters tonight. Kaja Halldórsdóttir won the poll (41.2%) and made it to the final. Kristín Ósk Wium finished second (35.3%) but was eliminated from the competition. Seth Shap and Arnar, Edgar, Sverrir and Ólafur had finished fourth and third in the poll with 9.8% and 13.7% respectively.

In 2008, Iceland was represent by Euroband. The duo finishedeighth in the second semi final and 14th in the final with their entry This is my life.
