Georgian broadcaster GPB has announced details regarding their national selection for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. On 18th February, a national final will be held to select the country's third representative and song in the competition.

Singers and songwriters are now asked to submit their entries to GPG until 5th February. A jury will then choose the songs to take part in the national final, which will be aired live from the channel's studios. The eventual winner will be chosen by SMS voting and the votes of an expert jury.

Georgia will take part in the Eurovision Song Contest for the third time. In 2007 and 2008, both Sopho and Diana Gurtskaya made it to the final with their entries Visionary dream and Peace will come to finish 12th and equal 11th respectively.
