Greece: Utopian Land radio premiere tomorrow

The Greek national broadcaster, ERT, has officially confirmed that the country’s song for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest will be entitled Utopian land.

Making its premiere tomorrow, Argo will present the Greek entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 from the ERT Headquarters in Athens. Utopian land will air for the first time at 13:30 local time (12:30 CET) on each of the following radio stations;

Last month, ERT confirmed that Argo had been internally selected to represent Greece at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest in the host city of Stockholm. Argo, formerly known as Europond, consists of 6 members; Christina Lachana (lead vocals), Maria Venetikidou (vocals), Vladimiros Sofianidis (vocals), Kostas Topouzis (Pontic lyra), Ilias Kesidis (vocals and percussion) and Alekos Papadopoulos (tabor).

Argo is the country’s first internally selected artist since 2009 when Sakis Rouvas was chosen to represent Greece with his nationally selected entry, This is our night. Unlike Rouvas, Argo’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest has been internally selected.

Greece will compete in the first semi-final of the competition on the 10 May at the Globen Arena in Stockholm.
