Iceland: Three names revealed

The names of three artists to compete in the 2009 Icelandic national final, Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins, have been unveiled. The three of them are quite popular with the Icelandic public and will join other 13 in order to represent Iceland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Moscow.

2009 Icelandic national selection, Söngvakeppni Sjónvarpsins, will be made up by four heats to be held in January, prior to the grand final on February 14th. A total of 16 acts will compete in the shows, three of which have already been revealed to esctoday.com:

  • Jogvan, who hails fromthe Faroe Islands, won the Icelandic X-Factor by 75% of votes. He will perform a song by Hallgrimur Oskarsson.
  • Halla, hostess the latest edition of X-Factor.
  • Ingo, who is currently one of the leading artists in Iceland. He composed & performed Iceland's biggest song-hit in years, called Bahama. Ingo will compete with other song written by Hallgrimur Oskarsson, who has submitted two entries to the contest.
