It has been declared by a reliable TRT responsible in Ankara that the song
to represent Turkey at the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 in Riga will be anounced some time between February 17th and 21st. No dates are expected for the anouncement before the mentioned ones as all state corporations will be on a one week holiday.

Many rumours have been going around among fans in Turkey and across the rest
of Europe concerning the anouncement of the Turkish entry. Previous statements that the song will be anounced this week or the week before were not actually made officially but dates and song titles has been made up by fans. In fact, there is no delay at all in the selection process of the Turkish entry. “Due to the habitude of the Eurovision fans that the song was selected these days every year, they had the expectation that Sertab's song will be anounced this week”, we learned from OGAE Turkey president Aykut Berber. “Having the responsibility of an official state corporation, TRT certainly waits for all issues to be certain and specific in order to make a declaration to the public”, he said.

Sertab will represent Turkey this year at the Eurovision Song Contest with a possibility of more than 90%. If any unexpected case occurs, TRT has already an alternative project for a song to be submitted by the end of this month.
