The jury responsible for the evaluation of about 40 songs submitted to the Cypriot broadcaster RIK will meet this Sunday in order to select the entry which will represent the country at the 48th Eurovision Song Contest in Riga.
The jury consists of famous lyricist Evi Droutsa, former Eurovision Song Contest participant Lia Vissi (Cyprus 1985) and RIK's responsible for the Eurovision Song Contest Marios Skordis. They will have in turn to submit their decision to the Board of Directors and the Management of RIK for approval.
The announcement of the selected entry is expected to be made on Wednesday, 5 February. Meanwhile, RIK is denying rumours of backdoor agreements between the broadcaster and some of the participants.
