The Portuguese television magazine TV Guia has reported that Rita Guerra has indeed been chosen by broadcaster RTP to represent Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 and that the song she will perform will be selected during a gala of Operação Triunfo.

According to TV Guia, RTP will organise a national competition open to all, which means that anybody in Portugal can submit songs. The best three songs will be selected internally, and they will be performed during a gala of Operação Triunfo, where the winning song will be chosen. It's unknown if the winning song will be selected through televoting, a jury or a mixture of both.
