Tomorrow night, Ireland will choose one of six competing acts to represent the seven-time winning nation at the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest. Yesterday, the songs were debuted on RTE Radio's Mooney show. You can now here a recap of the songs via the link below.

Listen to the show here. (Starts just after 30 mins into the show).

The six songs are:

  1. Double Cross My Heart – Donal Skehan (Joel Humlen, Oscar Gorres and Charlie Mason)
  2. Irelande Douze Points – Dustin The Turkey (Darren Smith, Simon Fine and Dustin The Turkey)
  3. Time to Rise – Maya (Maja Slatinsek and Ziga Pirnat)
  4. Not Crazy After All – Leona (Leona Daly and Steve Booker)
  5. Sometimes – Liam Geddes (Susan Hewitt)
  6. Chances – Marc Roberts (Marc Roberts)

One of the most controvercial songs to enter a national final this year is Irelande Douze Points by Dustin the Turkey. Many people have argued that gimmick acts devalue the competition as a 'song contest', now you can listen to the song and judge according to the music. Many in Ireland feel that the song is catchy and may not be able to be stopped. It is a dance act that will compete with pop, balads and blusey jazz in what is considered a strong final.

Ireland's national final takes place tomorrow and will be broadcast live on the internet.
