Alessandra Drusian, who is half of Italian group Jalisse performed on the Italian version of the singing competition show The Voice, but sadly did not make it through the blind audition.
Alessandra sung the song Io Canto (I sing in English) which was originally by Italian singer-songwriter Riccardo Cocciante, but sadly none of the judges turned their chairs to choose Alessandra, so she didn’t move forward in the competition. When the judges saw who was singing they were all apologetic and expressed regret in not turning around, but at that point it was too late.
Jalisse, which is made up of Alessandra and her partner Fabio Ricci, represented Italy with the song Fiumi de parole (River of Words) in the 1997 Eurovision Song Contest in Dublin and finished in fourth place. Unfortunately Italy then withdrew from Contest, only to return over a decade later in 2011. Since the re-entry into the contest they have consistently done well – ending up in the top 10 for last 3 years, and finishing in second place in 2011. They are represented this year by Emma, with the song La mia citta.
