Lena the 2010 German Eurovision winner and 2011 German Eurovision representative is going stronger than ever at home in Germany. She was awarded the Best Female Artist Award at the 2011 VIVA COMET Awards which were aired on German music channel VIVA recently. The Awards ceremony were held at the Konig Pilsener Arena in Oberhausen.

Lena shot to fame in Germany last year when she won the 2010 German Eurovision national final and was awarded the golden ticket to Oslo. She gained much popularity and fame at homein the build up to the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest, climaxing in her majestictriumph in Oslo where she took Europe by storm with her song Satellite.

The Lena-mania invaded Germany and Europe after her grand Eurovision victory, thus giving Germany its much awaited 2nd Eurovision triumph after 28 years, and bringing back the contest on German soil for the 3rd time. Such was her impact on the Germans that she was given the honour to defend her title at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contestat home in Germany. Lena represented Germany in Dusseldorf with yet another hit song Taken by a stranger, achieving a 10th placing.

Lena is among Germany's most popular singers today, enjoying name, fame and recognition both at home and overseas, specially with the younger generations.
