In the lead up to Cyprus’ official song revelation next month, the country’s forthcoming Eurovision representative Hovig has unveiled a sneak peek of his lyrics for his entry in the Kyiv-hosted competition.

Having confirmed his entry as Gravity over the last number of weeks in a number of exciting teasers, Hovig has today unveiled part of the song lyrics set to feature in Cyprus’ 2017 Eurovision entry.

Since Hovig’s confirmation back in October 2016, the Cypriot singer has been busy working with the country’s national broadcaster, CyBC, alongside composer and musician Thomas G:son in the city of Stockholm.

This is the second consecutive year that G:son has worked together with Cyprus for the Eurovision Song Contest, having helped to produce the country’s 2016 entry Alter ego alongside Cypriot rock band Minus One.

The group went on to finish in 21st position in the final of the contest last year, receiving a total of 96 combined points.

G:son is also no stranger to the Eurovision scene, having already produced a grand total of 12 former Eurovision entries since 2001, the most successful of that being in 2012 which saw his co-composed entry, Euphoria, win the entire competition with Swedish singer Loreen.

Song revelation in March

Cyprus’ Eurovision 2017 entry will be unveiled next month on the 1 March, with more details about the presentation of the Cypriot song expected in due course.

Cyprus will compete in the second half of the first semi-final on the 9 May in a bid to qualify to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest on the 13 May in the host city of Kyiv.
